If compared, funerals held today are far different to those held during our grandparent’s era. Not only are they far more expensive, they’ve also become much more extravagant. At most funerals now there are people who like to get up and talk about the deceased person and tell highlights from their lives as they knew them. This is usually quite informative for people who did not know the deceased too well, and it is also an escape valve for friends and family members.
Lastly, people do not feel they have to always wear black at funerals anymore. Since it is a “celebration of life” for the deceased, bright clothing fits right in with that theme.
